Association for the Execution of Wills and Asset Management (AGT e.V.)

Lawyer Rebecca Reineke is a certified executrix and member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Testamentsvollstreckung und Vermögenssorge e.V. - AGT for short. Here we explain exactly what the AGT is and what it stands for:

AGT e.V. has now been in existence for 27 years. It already has over 550 members who want to promote the interests of professional execution of wills. The certification of executors on the basis of the guidelines developed by the AGT makes an important contribution to this. More than 1200 executors have already undergone this certification, which is linked to regular further training. The certified executors (AGT) are published in the list of executors maintained by the AGT. [...] In 2017, the Higher Regional Court of Hamm even placed the knowledge and skills of an executor certified by the AGT in this area above those of a normal specialist lawyer for inheritance law. The certification process includes participation in recognised specialist courses covering all relevant areas of executorship. Successful completion of the courses must be proven by written examinations. Practical skills are also a prerequisite for certification. Lawyers, legal advisors, judges, notaries or legal counsels who are members of a bar association, auditors, tax consultants, sworn accountants or certified estate planners (cep) must have at least two years of professional experience. Evidence of annual training must be provided and recertification must be carried out after three years.
